Game and Event Production
Being one of the primary members of the production team at Ralph Engelstad Arena has given me the opportunity to be hands-on with everything from the iconic energy of a packed UND Hockey game to assisting in enhancing the budding production around UND Basketball and Volleyball games as well as play a pivotal role in helping all the other occasions and events held at the Ralph feel just as momentous.
Historic North Dakota Hockey
On the hockey side, I've been deeply involved in planning and executing our regular season games, constantly finding ways to evolve the in-arena experience without losing the energy and familiarity that keeps our fans coming back night after night.
Beyond the Ralph, I've had the privilege of contributing to a handful of destination games held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. These events come with their own unique challenge: honoring what makes our home game experience special while stepping into a much bigger stage. Finding that balance, keeping the familiar feel our fanbase connects with while rising to the scale of a marquee venue, has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work in this space.
Meaningful Moments in a historic Building
Outside of sports, Ralph Engelstad Arena plays host to a wide range of events, from weddings and galas to graduations. I take great pride in finding ways to elevate these moments, whether that means hand-crafting new display elements to complement an event's theme or completely revamping production workflows to strengthen the overall on-screen presence. A recent graduation was a great example of both, we overhauled the production workflow for a more polished experience and incorporated a sign language interpreter on the videoboard, making the event more inclusive and immersive for everyone in attendance. These opportunities push me to think differently, and the result is an experience that feels more meaningful and memorable for all involved.
Enhancing UND Athletics
While my role at Ralph Engelstad Arena primarily focuses on UND Hockey and our in-house events, my involvement extends across all of North Dakota Athletics. I've personally contributed to teaching and advising on production for Fighting Hawks Basketball and Volleyball at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center, as well as supporting production efforts for UND Football and UND Softball.
